Our Commitment

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. At Park View School, we work together to make sure every child feels safe, supported and able to thrive.

Park View School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the physical and emotional welfare of every pupil, both within the school and beyond the school premises. We take a whole‑school, preventative approach to safeguarding, ensuring that the wellbeing of pupils is central to every action and decision we make.

We will achieve this by:

  • Embedding a culture of safer recruitment, using robust procedures designed to deter, identify, or reject individuals who may pose a risk to children.
  • Teaching pupils how to stay safe, including how to recognise behaviour that is unsafe or inappropriate.
  • Identifying and supporting any pupil who has experienced abuse, ensuring timely intervention and appropriate provision.
  • Ensuring that governors, the Head Teacher, and all staff understand their safeguarding responsibilities, remain vigilant to signs of abuse, and know how to report concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
  • Appointing the Head Teacher, staff, and volunteers only after all required safeguarding checks have been satisfactorily completed, in line with statutory guidance.
