We want everyone to be able to use the Park View School website easily. This means you should be able to:

  • Change the colours and text size

  • Zoom in without words slipping off the screen

  • Move around the site using just a keyboard

  • Listen to the site using a screen reader

How Our Website Helps

Our website is built on the Realsmart platform, which includes built-in tools to make the pages easy to use:

  • A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page, so keyboard and screen reader users can go straight to the main content.
  • Page landmarks and labelled menus, and menu buttons that tell a screen reader whether a menu is open or closed.
  • Slideshows that can be paused, and that do not move on their own for people who have asked their device to reduce motion.

What We Do as a School

Our staff write and upload the information on this website. To help keep it easy to use, we aim to:

  • Add description text to pictures

  • Use headings in the right order

  • Write clear link names instead of just “click here”

  • Put captions or written text with videos

  • Avoid using scanned pictures of text

Parts of the Site That May Be Hard to Use

Some older files or documents from other groups (like scanned PDFs) might not work well with screen readers. Maps, calendars, and videos from other websites rely on their own accessibility settings.

Ask for Another Format or Report a Problem

Please tell us if you find something hard to use, or if you need information in a different format (like large print, audio, or Braille). We will look into it and reply as quickly as we can.
