Our Humanities curriculum helps students understand the world they live in — its people, places, cultures and histories. Through Geography, History and Religious Education (RE), pupils develop curiosity, empathy and critical thinking, preparing them to become informed, responsible citizens.

History – Understanding the Past
Students explore key events, people and changes that have shaped Britain and the wider world. They learn to:
- Ask questions about the past
- Use evidence to form opinions
- Understand cause and consequence
- Recognise how history influences life today
Topics often include ancient civilisations, medieval life, world conflicts, and social change.
🌍 Geography – Understanding Our World
Students investigate the natural and human processes that shape our planet. They learn to:
- Read maps and interpret data
- Understand weather, climate and ecosystems
- Explore global issues such as sustainability and population
- Study places at local, national and global scales
Geography helps students make sense of the environment and their role within it.
🕊️ Religious Education – Understanding Beliefs and Values
RE encourages students to explore different religions, worldviews and ethical questions. They learn to:
- Understand beliefs and practices across major world religions
- Reflect on moral issues and personal values
- Respect diversity and different perspectives
